Seth Homa Receives FM Title
In his 76th FIDE rated game, FM Seth Homa has achieved an elo rating over 2300. The Lansing Chess Club congratulates FM Homa on his new FIDE Title. He joins a short list of players from the region to have accomplished so much over the chess board.His current FIDE rating of 2302 puts him nearly in the top 8000 in the world, the top 5000 active players in the world, and #345 of the FIDE-rated US players. His USCF rating of 2328 places him at #6 of the players in Michigan to beat.

New Location (Again)
This Friday will be our last meeting at the current location. We are grateful to the North West Initiative for allowing us to use their space in the building we have been using.
But the time has come to move on.
More details to follow, but with this upcoming location change, we will be meeting on a different day, and at a different time. Meetings will be held on the LCC campus on Wednesdays, 6-10pm.
2/2/10 Edit: We will be meeting at room 127 of the TLC building, NE corner of Capitol and Shiawasse. If you can find a space, you can park at the SW corner parking lot for free. Parking is free after 6pm, so don't show up too early.
Building Location
2/6/2010 Edit: Last week the city was charging $2 to park at the lot previously mentioned. Thus free parking (on the street) was difficult to find. More to come on parking.
